Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have actually been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A man was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is important that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be harmful.

"These types of items being offered, generally online, have undergone no and there can be no assurance about their security.

"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the effect drugs like this might have on your health."
